Chelsea will hope to further close the gap on the Premier League’s top four when they take on Nottingham Forest on New Year’s Day.
The Blues comfortably saw off Bournemouth 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, with goals from Kai Havertz and Mason Mount ensuring victory for Graham Potter’s side. Reece James was however dealt a further injury setback, with the defender forced to withdraw after 53 minutes in west London.
Having now also agreed on a deal for 20-year-old forward David Datro Fofana from Molde this week, Potter has bolstered his attacking options following the injury sustained by Armando Broja during the mid-season break. Chelsea is at present six points outside the UEFA Champions League places.
